I can not post the exact gsdx.ini file right now, but I can tell you what I did.
I updated Pcsx2 from ppa, deleted gsdx.ini, entered Pcsx2, entered gsdx configuration and closed its window. (I guess that way the gsdx.ini was created from defaults).
After egl stuff I just had blank space, I had no more terminal messages.
I may check more, maybe I am going to try to upgrade Linux Mint XFCE 15 to 16, hopefully it is an easy thing and I have success upgrading a clean system with no personal data lost.

This is the default gsdx.ini I have in the GM45 system, I got it the same way, deleting the one I had and creating a new one just by entering gsdx configuration and leaving all as it was.

well I'm not sure default are correct (in particular the renderer option (0 is dx)). Normally after egl it must print the detected extensions.

Ok. Can you check the renderer option on you Sandy bridge system. Besides go to GSdx configuration and try to choose the SW renderer and see if it work. We will do HW renderer later.

You need to use svn r5808 (r5809 probably broke a couple of things) not the ppa version. I will update ppa in a couple of days. I need to fix several things first.

I am afraid something went wrong after upgrading my Linux Mint 15 XFCE system to the 16 version, now I have no OpenGL running and I only get a black screen when I boot my system.
I need to fix this issue with the operating system and then trying PCSX2, I think I can wait for the ppa update, maybe this trouble could take me some time to fix.

Was it an "upgrade" (as in, change the name of the new repo code name) or a fresh install? Mint is not upgrade friendly is you try the first step. So some sort of problem with X occurred (especially with mixing up of xorg and gpu drivers) and it will be a nightmare to fix, except to just do a fresh install.
OS: Linux Mint 17.2 64 bit (occasional Antergos/Arch user)
(I am no longer a Windows user)

You are right DaTankAC, just as you are saying, I tried the repo thing, sht happened and I had to fix it with the format-all-fresh-install medicine.
I guess I took my chances, I wanted to believe, so I took a look to the files I could lose and I said to my self that, in case of losing the not saved files, it would be a new beginning... and never more.
I am afraid I am used to the ubuntu upgrades, friendly and safer so far, so I wished for giving "mint" a try.

Issues
CDVD (fast): Same graphical issue as with ZZOgl 0.4.0 (see pics in this thread).
CDVD (full): Image shivering (Sony, PS, PS2 logos... following screens and menus); maybe it is because of the low frame rate (below 20fps).

Itadaki Street 3
Image trembling in the initial animation: maybe it is because of the low frame rate (18-19fps).
No visible text in menus: the text must be white, in no full dark text boxes you can see it is printed and there, but it is not really visible, the white text merely appears as a subtle shadow; when the text box background is full black, the text can not be seen.
It is fine with ZZOgl 0.4.0, perhaps in the case of GSdx it is as if the text is appearing underneath the text box, I am just speculating, but maybe the text is shown in the first place and then the text box covers it, so the text box appears at the front.
