I know this probibly gets posted here ALL the TIME But I seriously need this problem fixed before it gives me a STROKE, the fps is steadily climbing out of control and I can't play anything, how do i set it back to normal without it suddenly going haywire again? Thank you for your help.

just uncheck the disable framelimiting option in GS section of emulation settings and, problem solved.

You probably pressed tab (turbo) or f4 (framelimiting mode) by accident.
OS: Linux Mint 17.2 64 bit (occasional Antergos/Arch user)
