yeah queastion as the subject says^^
additionally would i gain speed if i used flashdrives or SSDs to gain iso reading speed?
Or would the iso plugin "linutz apps CDVD ISO 0.8.0" be the bottleneck?

I have to ask this. Are you retarded? A hard drive is roughly 100x slower (if not more) than a CPU. That means you'll need to find a hard drive that is 100x faster than a normal hard drive to show any effect in speed with PCSX2 and that is in theory.

@Maestro no need to be harsh.
@Kabooz you wont gain speed if you got a flash drive or a SSD cause running a ps2 game via pcsx2 or even a ps2 is not like playing an audio CD.
The data is read from the DVD processed and a real time 3D image is produced on the screen.
So DVD read speed is not directly proportional to the speed of emulation of any game on pcsx2.

how can you compare hdd and l1/l2/or l3 cache?
and second i think you misread quite a lot
the question is whether an iso cdvd plugin can be a bottleneck or not ^^
and the same for hdds
there is nothing about a cpu... and sure you have to ask if i'm retarded when you didn't read the question xD
also for the record if the speed difference is great then getting the slower thing faster would be a much greater speed gain^^ (only if both things ar as much important than the other)
EDIT: damn too late XD thanks for the answer redlof. so basically there is no need for faster read cycles

^^ i meant ssd or a flash drive maybe the wrong term ... idk the official
a harddrive based on ram has to be connected through the pci-ex port because the sata is too slow...
and for SSDs it's almost the same an ssd can reach 800 megabyte/s read speed iirc

Nothing compares to reading ISO image from your HD, unless your HD is some IDE drive that doesn't support UDMA at all with overall bandwidth 1 mb/hour. Anything else, just as rama pointed, is slower.
And just who in the world started using that word... BOTTLENECK.. now it sounds sooo pop
