I have some suggestions/wishes for games that would benefit greatly from patches if some of you are looking for games to work on:
Kya Dark Lineage NTSC - Underrated PS2 exlusive 3d platformer
Magna Carta Tears of Blood NTSC - PS2 exlusive action rpg
No One Lives Forever NTSC - Available on PC as well but does not support controller there, plus PS2 version has exlusive levels
Arc the Lad End of Darkness NTSC - PS2 exclusive action rpg
Testing Kya Dark Lineage again it seems this title runs unlocked already. On original hardware it drops quite often, which must be why I thought it was a 30fps title. On pcsx2 it runs comfortably at 60fps most of the time. So, that means all of the requests I posted have been done. Thanks to Gabominated for the amazing work!
I have a couple of more titles I really think would benefit from 60fps unlocks. Hopefully some of the wizards in this thread can take a look at them.
- Growlanser V: Heritage of War SLUS-21571
- Growlanser VI: Precarious World SLPM-66716 (fan-translated)
These two games run at the same engine afaik. The earlier Growlanser games (1-4) all ran at 60fps but I guess the 3d graphics in these made it so they had to reduce the framerate internally to 30fps. The graphics remind me of the Kuzunoha Raidou games with 3d characters overlaid on pre-rendered backgrounds. The 60fps + non-interlace patches really cleaned up those games, hopefully the same can be done for these.
- Pirates: Legend of Black Kat SLUS-20365
The last single player game by once legendary developer Westwood studios before they were fully gobbled up and obliterated by the EA machine. I've tried playing this a couple times through the years but the 30fps looks and feels especially bad for this one.
- Rune: Viking Warlord SLUS-20109
Pretty janky but also pretty cool 3d action platformer with some nice physics-based interaction. This has a PC version but even the re-release has poor controller support. Also needs a widescreen patch.
- Metal Arms: Glitch in the System SLUS-20786
Console exclusive third person shooter/adventure game. This runs unlocked on Xbox but almost never reaches 60fps there. Hopefully, this means animation and timing is not tied to the framerate on PS2 either?
