Cheats not working on Gran Turismo 4 NTSC-U

Hello, i'm attempting to mod my NTSC-U Copy of Gran Turismo 4 with .pnach files, i've put them in the cheats folder of my portable pcsx2 v1.7.3651, but when i load up the game it says

[  116.2519] [GameDB] No CRC-specific patch or default patch found
[  116.2527] Overall 0 Cheats loaded

any help would be very much appriciated!!

Your CRC and pnatch file names don't match.

Also i THINK it should be just CRC.pnatch filename. So if your version's CRC is 33C6E35E pcsx2 will look for cheats in a file called 33C6E35E.pnatch

Also also, quick googling brought me info that apparently there appears to be two CRC versions of GT4 (33C6E35E and 77E61C8A)... cheats for one CRC may not work for another one as they're not *exactly* same.
