Games are lagging when trying to play.

Hey there everyone. I am new to running emulators so I apologize if this is a simple question with an easy solution. I recently installed PCSX2 on my laptop and am having trouble running most games. Whenever I try running NFS Underground 2 and NFS Most Wanted the game speed severely drops down to about 20% causing there to be some major lag. This only happens once I get into the main menu for each game. The only game that I have ran on the emulator without any problem is Dragonball Budokai 3. My laptop runs windows 10. Tech specs include i7-6700HQ processor, NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 960M, 4gb GDDR5, and 8gb sdram. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

What is your PCSX2 version?

Can you post your pcsx2\logs\emulog.txt after you start the game(maybe you are using your intel card instead of your nvidia card)

I have used both 1.4 and1.5. Previously my game speed was dropping down to around  40% but now it drops down to 20% after I followed the instructions on a YouTube video.

Well not exactly but this also tells me that you are running the game in software mode which is a lot slower that running in hardware mode.
Go to the GSdx settings(Config=>Video (GS))and change the renderer to OpenGL (Hardware)

Did the change you suggested and the same thing still happens. I also double checked which adapter I'm using and it is my NVIDIA card.

The emulog is in either
pcsx2 directory in logs\emulog.txt
or in
Documemts\PCSX2\logs\emulog.txt

Depending on your nvidia control panel settings,changing the adapter from gsdx will do nothing

OK you are using your nvidia card
What are your gsdx settings and you can try enabling the mtvu speed hack in emulation settings=>speed hacks
