Getting PSX ROMs to run

Hey guys,

I just found out PCSX2 is able to run PSX ROMs too. I get the booting screen but only a black screen afterwards.

My specs are:
i5 4570 3.2 GHz
16GB RAM
Geforce GTX 970 4GB RAM
Windows 10
PCSX 1.5.0-dev-2229

The ROMs I'm trying are JoJo's Bizarre Adventure NTSC-J and Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo NTSC-U (which is slightly problematic as it features 3 iso files and 1 cue file).

Am I missing something? Thanks in advance!

You could try fooling around with EE timing hack and IOP/EE interpreter. If that doesn't help, then it just won't work with PCSX2 in its' current state.

so pcsx2 is still in the very early stages and I mean EARLY stages of running playstation 1 games. Two things, one make sure to set your graphics renderer to software mode, and go into emulation settings and set iop to interpreter

Thanks, both of you. Tried around quite a bit, but it sadly didn't work. As long as I did everything correctly I'm still kinda satisfied.

Edit: Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo even got me the Capcom logo for a second before blacking out.

Yeah some games work some don't, it's really a trial and error thing more than anything else at this point. Btw pandubz is working on memory card issues with ps1 games that do work, let him know if you find any. You can make a ps1 memory card in the memory card create section of pcsx2 is a ps1 cards the option you'd looking for.

Been playing around with it I can get Lunar 2 to the title screen if I set the renderer to OpenGL software.

However I just get black after that even if I set EE and IOP to recompiler and have EE cache enabled.
