Hello, every game I try to run works at 60fps about 90% of the time. It stutters down to 45+ though on every game.
I have an I7 processor, a 1070gpu and 16g of ram. Can anyone help me fix this lag issue?

Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Adapter:default Hardware Device
renderer: Direct3D 11/10 (Hardware) but plz don't select d3d9 it's the worst renderer
your cpu it totally fine to use, try to use pcsx2 developer builds cz they are the best currently
https://buildbot.orphis.net/pcsx2/index.php?m=fulllist
the issue is that of adjusting the best settings for your machine, and not the hardware, do some searching about the best settings for your favorite game and you should be fine...
hope that helps!!

silent.. mind checking something even though you have decided to live with it? Check your power plan and see if it is set to power saving or performance? makes a difference on my laptop. Your cpu is up to the task, but you could be thermal throttling.
