So get a graphics card. Tongue

Seriously, what's intergrated on a motherboard would rarely be enough. Decent CPU, though. Smile

I have the system in my sig, and i also have a system with an E2180 at 2ghz. The thing with that is that it can be OCd, say like i got it to 2.8ghz, how much better would it be than my i3?

New: Dell Inspiron 15 7580 | Intel i7-8565U @ 1.8 GHz | 16 GB DDR4 RAM | GeForce MX150 2 GB

Old: Lenovo IdeaPad Z510 | Intel i7-4702MQ @ 2.2 GHz | 6 GB DDR3 RAM | GeForce GT 740M 1 GB

I would estimate those two coming out nearly equal at that point. I'm guessing the i3 would still come out on top. Is the E2180 rig using DDR2 800 memory? If so, I'd be more certain of the i3 being better (assuming it's with DDR3 1333).

Yeah-- Pretty close, though. You could always see first-hand, or benchmark for PCSX2. Smile

Best budget card that is a low 114$ is a ATI radeon HD 5770 will overkill PCSX2 as LONG as you have a 450 watt PSU, also get more ram.

After accidently smashing my HP HDX18 laptop (RIP Tongue2), I've decided to build a PC from scratch. So the plan is to buy the following soon......

Graphics card:
Asus GeForce GTX 580 782Mhz DirectCU II 1536MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card [ENGTX580 DCII/2DIS/1536MD5]

Hard drive:
- OCZ Technology 120GB Vertex 2 Series SATA-300 3.5" Solid State Drive

CPU:
- Intel Core i7-2600K 3.40GHz LGA1155 8MB

MEMORY:
- Corsair Memory Dominator GT 8GB DDR3 1866 Mhz CAS 9 XMP DHX Dual Channel Desktop

PSU:
- Corsair 850 Watt Pro Series Gold AX850

Motherboard:
- Asus P8P67 PRO REV 3.0 LGA1155 Intel P67 DDR3 ATX (B3 Stepping)

I know these specs will do fine running most games in PCSX2.

But how well do you think these specs will do running the most demanding PS2 games WITHOUT any speed hacks??

Cheers
Alienware m18x (space black anodized aluminum):
Intel® Core™ i7 2920XM @ 4.0GHz
x2/Dual 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon™ HD 6990M - AMD CrossFireX
Corsair Force GT 240GB SSD
Kingston HyperX 16GB memory @ 1600mhz

When possible, you will have full speed.

I can't stress enough, however, that "the most demanding PS2 games" will be those your system can't manage full speed with. Yes, there still will be some, but most will be ravaged by those specs (especially with an OC). Smile

&nbsp BTW - Sometimes, you will still need some Speedhacks to reach/maintain full speed. Ghz can't do everything for ya.

Ahhhh cool, thanks for the fast response Rezard.
My aim will be to overclock that CPU up to 4.8Ghz, and possibly dropping the OCZ vertex SSD for a OCZ Technology 120GB Vertex 3 Series SATA III 2.5" Solid State Drive instead now.

This is mainly aimed at playing the most demanding PC games as smooth as possible within my budget. I'd have to by crazy to spend all that money just to play PCSX2 smoothly Tongue2

But I love my good old PS2 games just as much, so I'll be curious to see how well this will bench against those picky games Smile

You know what; I almost said something about just going for a Vertex 3. Laugh
