6x 3.3 GHz AMD AM3+ FX-6100
1024 MB ATI Radeon HD7770
16 GB [2x 8GB] DDR3-1333
3,5" 2,0 TB S-ATAIII

Thanks! Smile

Same answer for SotC
Even if most intensive games will be bottlenecked by the CPU, since Bulldozer architecture is an epic failure under pcsx2
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

If you're going to go AMD, spend the extra few dollars and get a Vishera at least (FX-6300 for example) since at least they overclock really well.

Hi guys, my budget only allows me to have either a light OC setup with a weak GPU or a a Non OC with a good GPU. which is better? i dont mind much on graphics, 2x native is all i need.. games i wana play is ffx,ff12,some naruto games, persona series and the likes..

Light OC:
i5 3470
z77 mobo
Amd 6670 1GB ddr5

Non OC:
i5 3470
b75 mobo
amd 7850 1GB ddr5

both settings should be more than enough for those light games you're willing to try
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS

still ok for FF series (except FFX-2 FMVs of course...), persona series will get slowdowns, 2D naruto games will be ok.

What is best for the pscx2 emulator to have it run at full speed, a CPU which is dual core with 3.2 GHz or a 8-core with 4 GHz?

A faster processor with more cores certainly will beat a slower processor with less cores, but that should be with just about everything, not just PCSX2 Smile

General guidelines: You want as fast of a processor as you can find with at least 3 cores. Intel work better than AMD, but top of the line Vishera overclocked will do fine in 95% of games, and the hardest to emulate games won't run full speed even with an i7 at 5ghz.

OHai!

This is my first post here, I am planning to buy a laptop and occasionally run PCSX2 on it. Here is what i am getting.
Thinkpad T430
i7 i7-3520M, 2.9GHZ
8GB DDR3 RAM
Nvidia Quadro NVS 5400M with 1GB Memory
1600x900 LCD
What do ya think, will it work on my chinkpad? I want to play FF-X/FF-X2/Xenosaga 1 2 3.
