Read first: Will PCSX2 run fast on my computer?

Figured I'd ask this before I really get started. My computer:

Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q8300 @2.50ghz
6 gigs of ram
Windows 7
Nvidia Geforce 240 1gb SLI'd (two cards at 1gb each)



Okay. So basically I'm only really interested in playing Dark Cloud 2, (i have a copy but my ps2 is broken), so...would it be worth it? Would it run at anything resembling real speeds?

It should be pretty good, although the game is very demanding CPU wise in some areas.

you got to toy with the settings, and search the forums to get it to run the way you want it.

since its a laptop dont expect too much for it,and mainly beacuse of the fact that your cpu is weak and the gpu is a "mobility" one,i think you wont get full speed in the persona series (correct me if im wrong),melty blood AA should run ok , and MGS3 should run like a slug (way too slow)

My PS2 controllers are pretty much borked so it'd be good to play on my comp with mouse and keyboard.

hi guys, i want to ask that my pc:

RAM 1GB DDR2
Nvidia GeForce 7300 SE/7200 GS 512 MB

could run games with full speed 60fps or at least 50fps.., cause i wonder why when i'm playing atelier iris 2 and some other games, it could run in full fps.. but not when i'm playing with another games, in this case i'd like to try MGS3 which couldn't run with full at all times (30 - 40 fps), and especially when cutscenes are being played, it was really slow... is it due to my system resource lacking?

I wondered how well that laptop config would do with PCSX2 0.9.6 and the right plugins (I keep hearing about gsdx... what is it exactly ?), especially on Tales of the Abyss / Star Ocean 3 / Rogue Galaxy.

Anyway here it is :

i7-620M 2,66ghz (turbo 3,33)
4GB DDR3
Radeon Mobility HD5650

I heard the turbo mode should be near to useless, a higher clock would be welcomed but from benchmarks Arrandale are significantly faster than equally clocked c2d in all kind of environment wether multi or single core. Also I wonder if the GPU will be okay in most situations ?

If someone has an insight on that matter, my anticipated thanks.
