[Testers Wanted] PCSX2-CE for OS X (v1.0!)
Im having trouble and could use a "for dummys" explanation.

Basically, I followed the tutorial instructions. downloaded the package with pcsx2, quartz, and configured winekey winetricks runs. the msxl3 thing failed even after i downloaded it from cnet and re ran it. I put it in the path that winekey told me to, in the library. the 2nd thing, vcrun i think, i got a message saying that i encountered a serious problem and needed to close. the only thing that seemed to go through properly was dxd9.

i also didnt install the nvidia kit bc it said it was optional. maybe ill give that a try just to see if it might change something. but the main thing i noticed is that i dont think pcsx was installed properly, but i have no idea what to do. compare my picture and the one the creator linked, his pcsx has a blue logo under it, while mine has the "needs to be installed logo" under it still.

heres a screen of what ive got so far: http://imgur.com/nL4kVgW it seems that ive gotten the application to come up, and it said plugins loaded properly, but when i select a bios (ff12), the black screen comes up but immediately closes itself. no playstation 2 logo comes up or anything, just a black screen then disappears.

From what read, you didn't extract the bios from your ps2.
No game will run without.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070

a bios is an hardware/software interface. Not a game. So FF12 is not a bios but an iso. The bios you need to extract from your ps2 while the iso you get by ripping the corresponding game cd/dvd.

ok thanks... yeah i realized that shortly after i posted. i did drop the ps2 bios files in the folder though shortly after my post, and im still having the same issue, just crashes right away. maybe the files arent accurate or something. the names are scph1000.bin .mec and .nvm

idk, maybe ill try to re install the patches in winetricks bc im pretty sure 2 of them werent successful. i didnt install the nvidia kit either but i figured that was just for additional settings since it said optional. ill try messing with it again i got burnt out on it yesterday

edit: heres a screen of the log when i checked the config settings of the path to search for bios files. it also shows the bios files themselves on the left. http://imgur.com/vmpFB6t

edit2: nm i got it working, i guess all of the bios files didnt transfer from my ps2. got my friend to redo it for me and its working now. thanks

Hey guys,

I downloaded the latest beta package of the PCSX2-CE Version from ConsoleEmu.com: pcsx2ce-1.2.1-565
I have the same problem as the following user:
http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Testers-W...#pid424400

After doing some research I found the error: the sha1sum of the file vcredist_x86.exe has been changed. This was fixed in the latest winetricks version. I don't know how to change the sha1sum of it manually in the pcsx2-package.

Bug report:
https://code.google.com/p/winetricks/iss...ail?id=466

From the current source code:
Code:
    # 2014/07/26: 18f81495bc5e6b293c69c28b0ac088a96debbab2
    # 2015/01/14: df7f0a73bfa077e483e51bfb97f5e2eceedfb6a3
    w_download http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/E/6/2E61CFA4-993B-4DD4-91DA-3737CD5CD6E3/vcredist_x86.exe df7f0a73bfa077e483e51bfb97f5e2eceedfb6a3

Any idea how to change the sha1sum in winetricks manually? "Update Winetricks" in the GUI didn't work.

Another odd thing is that I couldn't open PCSX2 – I had to open the package directly and open wineskin in it to configure that stuff. Is it normal? Maybe because vcrun2013 isn't installed, right?

//EDIT:
Found the solution. Open the PCSX2 Folder with a right-click on the app -> "show contents" (in german it states "Paketinhalt zeigen"), then open the Wineskin Folder, go to Contents/Resources and edit the winetricks file in it. Search for vcrun2013. There you'll find the following line:
Code:
w_download http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/E/6/2E61CFA4-993B-4DD4-91DA-3737CD5CD6E3/vcredist_x86.exe 18f81495bc5e6b293c69c28b0ac088a96debbab2
Change it into the following line:
Code:
w_download http://download.microsoft.com/download/2/E/6/2E61CFA4-993B-4DD4-91DA-3737CD5CD6E3/vcredist_x86.exe df7f0a73bfa077e483e51bfb97f5e2eceedfb6a3

Now try to install vcrun2013. It works.

find the zzogl plugin (it's a dll), then go look inside the wrapper for the plugins folder, drop that plugin there

Did anyone compare the use of PCSX2 with Bootcamp vs. PCSX2-CE on a Macbook?

Bootcamp will be better overall. Probably faster, less crashes, and probably better performance too, especially of GSdx.
