What would be ok about merely staying over 20fps?
That's still way too slow... (30-40% of what's normal)

The latest official on the site.. or SVN also from the main site. You did not specify your GPU but with the CPU you mentioned, you are going to have a hard time with many games.

My best perception of what your processor is,
and your mentioning of such relatively low framerates.
is telling me no version of PCSX2 will likely help your weak hardware enough.
It is very important to know the architecture type of your processor, and it's clockrate.
Please Post the exact model name and number of your processor properly.
Also, your graphics unit is a very important hardware factor.
As well as the specific game you are trying to emulate.

2.3 GHz does not sound like enough to run most of Pcsx2 games. My computer has low specs as well (2.6 GHz processer), and it can barely run the GTA games. I suggest you do whatever you can do to optimize your computer, and make it run at its fastest. Since your on a laptop, your out of luck because you cant overclock the processer. Of course, I might be wrong about all of this, if you have a super powered graphics card, you should be just fine.

Again you are not saying what your GPU is.. if you do not know then go to http://www.techpowerup.com/downloads/SysInfo/GPU-Z/ download and run it. Turion based CPUs are not exactly good for PS2 emulation.. the EE is going to be crying.
