It's fine here, except for a sudden crash which I could not reproduce.

I've a problem in Windows 8:

In Windows 7 the emultator has worked perfectly!

tried setting your SPU2-x settings to dsound instead or Xaudio ?

Better yet, he should follow the message and get the latest DirectX runtime.
Edit: I'm not sure if Windows 8 comes with the DX 9.0c, the emulator works for me but then I had installed games which installed DX9 without need to downaload it again (even in that fresh new windows 8 install after the memory stick broke and did corrupt a lot of files). He should not have issues with XAudio, but...

I thought that Windows 8 came with the latest DirectX runtimes library... until I installed it.

You still need to run the DirectX end user installer and PCSX2 still does that when you install it via setup.exe.
