I started a new game and waited till all the cutscenes finished. The first time you have control of your character. I didn't move a step though. Took the FPS there.

I think that is the first time I've seen HT possibly come in handy. I would be curious to see your results with HyperThreading disabled to confirm that it "does" help in that scenario.

So you want me to disable it and run the exact same test again?

I'd really like someone else with a hyperthreading cpu to test this game too, to confirm it.
"Grand Theft Auto - San Andreas"
0 extra threads: 77 FPS
1 extra thread: 83 FPS
2 extra thread: 87 FPS
3 extra thread: 87 FPS
8 extra thread: 78 FPS
Note : These are the lowest FPS recorded,MTVU, standing still in game.

Sager 9380-S (I have it, it is slow still on that scene. Faster than my Qosmio x875, but still slow)

Sager 9570: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiksoNlllgE
Either the same graphics card as mine or lesser, I forgot. But it is fast.

Difference between the 2 laptops is that one has a 6 core processor and one has a 4 core processor. Might not be useful in the way that you are thinking, but it is useful somewhere or else there would be no increase in speed.

I AM talking about graphics cards ram. And no it isn't out yet. It comes out in Feb. That part is untested because it isn't out yet. But I am certain that it WILL work (880M gtx [8gb gddr5]). Of course, I'll be sure to let you know if it doesn't because I plan on getting it.

I'm using hardware mode, 1080p resolution. With or without speedhacks.

If you could please, then possibly rerun the test with it on, to make sure it wasn't a fluke Tongue2 but yes, it would be an interesting comparison to see if HT can actually help in some situations. If it works with it off we can just assume some games like lots of threads for small loads and we can recommend other users trying it on some games.

Whaaaa? In every system I've had, whether laptop or desktop, turning off hyperthreading always made the whole system a lot more slower Tongue
"Mana Khemia - Alchemists of Al-Revis"
0 extra threads: 83 FPS
1 extra thread: 85 FPS
2 extra thread: 147 FPS
3 extra thread: 190 FPS
8 extra thread: 175 FPS
Note : These are the lowest FPS recorded,MTVU, standing still in game, Hyperthreading OFF.

Results with HyperThreading OFF posted above.

Retested with it ON and got the same results as before.
"Final Fantasy X"

2 extra thread: 167 FPS
3 extra thread: 188 FPS
8 extra thread: 209 FPS

Okay so performance is superior when real cores are free, but when you get more threads after that, HT must kick in and actually do something ;p

Yeah, Looks like the less demanding games benefit from 8 threads but the more demanding ones suffer a bit.
