Full Version: Does PCSX2 take advantage of more than 4 cores?

kind of how i suspected, putting more than 1 thread on to 1 core, would be slower as the new amd's aren't built for single core performance, so those results are kind of as expected.

Here is why, I think. (And I've been wondering about this)

It says "Extra rendering threads" right? Doesn't that imply that one exists already?

0 extra threads is a total of 1 thread.

3 extra threads is a total of 4 threads.

7 extra threads is a total of 8 threads.

I could be wrong though.
correct, it is extra threads on top of the main gsdx one Smile so on a quad core, as the gs is usually the slowest in software mode, we don't mind it consuming some of pcsx2's thread.
