Your i5 is a dual-core with hyper-threading, which means it has 2 logical cores and 4 threads. Hyper-threading is the act of a single core running in a way that imitates 2 cores. It benefits applications that make use of multiple cores/threads for better performance but it's not up to par with a true dual core CPU.

PCSX2 uses 2 cores when emulating. 1 for the Emotion Engine and 1 for the GS unit. MTVU breaks up the GS unit into VU0 and VU1 which brings the total up to 3 cores, and there's also the UI thread? I don't know well how it works, but you may see a small speed increase with MTVU. Just give it a try, your results might be better.
http://forums.pcsx2.net/attachment.php?aid=52805 %VU remains high...Okay nevermind...ill play with the slowdowns XD
I guess it's impossible a fluid emulation for me.
I envy all of those that have a cpu that works at more than 3Ghz
It's less about GHZ and more about IPC.

Oh great, another acronym...
Screw it, Im gonna play to the ePSXe XD
IPC = instructions per clock.

Consider a CPU with 20 instructions per clock, and one with 50 instructions per clock. The 20 IPC cpu is 4 Ghz, the 50 IPC cpu is 2 Ghz.

20 * 4,000,000,000 = 80,000,000,000 instructions per second.

50 * 2,000,000,000 = 100,000,000,000 instructions per second.

So the 4 Ghz CPU would be 20 percent slower than the 2 Ghz one.

(I pulled these numbers out of my ass, and they don't correlate to any known processors. It was just to show the math and make the point)
UhUh....uhuh...
So how can I see my IPS?

Compared to mine:

It's a measly 1135 Tongue

So does it mean that my cpu is better??? It's strange
PCSX2 needs about 1200 for non demanding games, 1400 for moderate ones, 1600 for moderately demanding ones, 1800 for demanding ones, and 2000 for insanely demanding ones.

*this is without using speedhacks
