Full Version: Graphics lag but no Audio lag
You're currently viewing a stripped down version of our content. View the full version with proper formatting.
Hello,

I'm new here and I installed PCSX2 and play with it a little bit, because I want to play Xenosaga. The thing is... I got everything running well in my notebook, and after adjusting configurations, now the game runs at 90% speed and 60fps. However, there is this strange issue of a huge lag in graphics when the game enters a cutscene, and the audio keeps playing at the normal speed.

I just can't understand why this is happening. If the fps went down it would be obvious, but why the emulator keeps showing me 99% speed and the graphics are playing very very slow while the audio keeps going? I would like some information about that, if you guys know something about it...
Please post the contents of the emulog.txt file after the problem occurs. The file can be found in "My Documents\PCSX2\logs" for the installer version or in "PCSX2\logs" for the portable/binary version.

Please make sure to enclose your emulog in code tags like so (remove the empty space on the closing code tag!):

In order to help you further with your problem, please make sure the following are all provided.
  • Any non default settings you are using, such as speed hacks or presets.
  • Your GSdx graphics settings (a picture of the settings dialog is preferred)

Thank You.
Ok,

Here is the log as requested. I put a print of the gsdx config and I'm using only two options in the velocity hacks: +1 in EE cycle and +2 in skipping EE cycle.
Also note that I already tested it altering the main config and nothing improved. I'm guessing that it is some graphics plugin issue or my notebook... but I don't know much, so let's see what the community says.

Edit 1: I just tested Final Fantasy XII with the same config and it ran smoothly. So, probably an issue with Xenosaga, then?

Edit2: Today I had more time to test it, and I check how my CPU, GPU and Memory are behaving when the cutscene is lagging. It was all below 50%, so one more point for the problem being with the emulator and not with my computer, I guess. Nevertheless... I just can't see where the problem could be.

Did you set SPU2 to async instead of Timestretch?

I didn't change anyting on the sound plugin. But now that you said it, I tested it and the problem continues. But the audio is ok all the time, the only problem is that, the video falls behind the audio everytime the game enter a cutscene that involves game characters. The first cutscene, that is a little movie, runs smoothly. Any additional thoughts?
