Are there issues PCSX2 1.6.0. I cannot load my PS2 discs either from Disc or ISO. I prefer Disc over ISO, so if anyone can help me trouble shoot to get the disc to work that would be great.

***Personal Note - PCSX2 1.4.0 works with disc only and not with ISO files, but won't play every game***

Below are the error messages that I get:
File not Found.
Path: IsoFileSystem

CDVD plugin failed to open. Your computer may have insufficient resources, or impopatible hardware/drivers.

Press Ok to go to the Plugin Configuration Panel.

Warning! System plugins have not been loaded. PCSX2 may be inoperable.

Are you using any virtual cd drive ?
It looks like your drive is busy or disc is faulty.

What prevents you from dumping an ISO from your dvd exactly ? What game is this ?

As I stated in my post. ISO doesn't work, same issue same error.

If the CD Drive was faulty then it wouldn't play the some of the disc that work on PCSX2 1.4.0.

My question is, is PCSX2 1.6.0. faulty, because my computer works flawlessly with the CD Drive.
No, it isn't. How did you try to make your iso ?

I used imgburn and followed tutorials I found on YouTube.

I also forgot to add that all my PS1 Disc games work on PCSX2 1.6.0 but the graphics are all trippy colors. Just tried it out as an experiment. All Cd's, DVDs on my D Drive work except PS2 Discs and ISO's with version PCSX2 1.6.0.

Version PCSX2 1.4.0 works great with my PS2 Disc's except for a few games like Contra Shattered Solider. I get a screen that says "Please insert a PlayStation 2 format disc" for Contra.

I would just use PCSX2 1.4.0, but I figure the latest version will be able to play all my games.
weird.
giving latest dev build a try may help, though
Because it looks like your DVD is seen as a CD by pcsx2.

PS1 games won't work correctly whetever you do. better use duckstation for this
yeah it is super weird.

I thought duckstation was dead?

????where did you get that idea ?

and did you try pcsx2's latest dev build ?
Use a fresh install directory in standalone mode (portable.ini file).. then reset all the local settings in that 1.6 folder to defaults/run wizard... I think you're having some sort of settings conflicts with 1.4 vs 1.6...

But also, your CPU is new enough even if it's a laptop. Go for the latest dev build. Unless you've got very weird USB hardware... 1.7 is superior to 1.6.

I am not a dev so I am not sure which option to select. v1.73467 has four options. Which is the best option?

- Windows 64bit -AVX2 - QT
- Windows 64bit -AVX2 - wx Widgets
- Windows 64bit -SSE4 - QT
