For those interested, we need your opinion on the subject of the test table. The table looks like this, currently:
http://wiki.pcsx2.net/index.php/Template:TestingEntry

If you have any constructive ideas, please add your opinion here:

Thank you!

I think it looks good and I posted as such. I had to do a stupid captcha FIVE times before it said it was right and let me post that though.

That probably should be the next thing: replace KeyCaptcha with something less intrusive (something number-based for less headache). It's only getting in the way of the editors at this point in time.

Anyway, we got the new testing table template pretty much set in. Should be able to roll out soon.

Bositman did say he can disable the captcha for those that need it. You would have to talk to him about it tho.

I'm uploading little utility to convert pages from the old template into the new one by the means of Windows clipboard. More info on that here:
http://wiki.pcsx2.net/index.php/User_tal...8cont.3.29
This binary file (size=44032) should contain no viruses (although you are advised to test it anyway before use). I may also think about including the source if anyone is too suspicious about binary files.
This may not be the final version. Who knows how many bugs I've put into this small thing...

Wouldn't this have to be run against each one individually? I would think that it would be better to write something that would hook into the database and do them all at once. It's possible there is something preventing this, but I imagine it would be possible.

I have no direct access to PCSX2 wiki DB and thus cannot use it. I'll convert really empty pages (no test info at all) in mostly automatic fashion. These empty pages make roughly 50% of articles. The rest cannot be converted automatically because the old template lacked information (author, OS, etc...) and some information should be edited by hand.

Okay, well you could always ask bositman for a copy of the wiki tables that include the articles. Also, for those with test information, why not just use what we have (aka simply "Windows" for OS)? I would imagine it would be better to have all the articles ported automatically with generic info rather than having a bunch of untested games.

I mean even if we port the info by hand, we can't generate the missing information and I mean I only have copies of like a dozen games, so I can't make test results for most of the more obscure games.

I would like to know others opinions, but I would rather have incomplete test results (which can later be removed if we get newer test results) than none at all.

What I meant is the old info does not include tester name (which can be found in page history), OS version (which can be found in comments in many cases), region type (which still can be found in page history in many cases). But I can see your point. You suggest to go ahead and convert all automatically. There are around (1868-1179) 700 articles that need manual labor. It's a lot but still doable. I think I'll settle on converting everything and try to eventually fill the missing info myself.

I say convert them automatically and tag them all with something like "Unverified Conversion". If they look fine post-conversion, we remove the category. I'm used to working with a long list of problematic pages until we weed out every single one of them.
