Errors on Official English guide

Well it's not exactly a real file extension Tongue I also thought it would be simpler for people who are not familiar with file extensions

Well, wikipedia states "A filename extension is a suffix (separated from the basefilename by a dot) to the name of a computer file applied to indicate the encoding (file format) of its contents or usage" Since its usage is for PCSX2, I'd call it real Wink
But then again, I forgot about the people who don't set their Windows preferences to show file extensions... I guess that's understandable Smile

I am not sure but

Official English Guide Wrote:Software mode Subsection:

Only available if a Software Renderer has been selected above. Here you will find options to tweak how many threads the render will use and turn on/off the software AA.

I guess it should have been renderer. Tongue2

Quote:EE timing Hack: Multi purpose hack. Known to help: 'Digital Devil Saga', 'SSX', 'Resident Evil: Dead Aim'.

The guide says "known to help" but the GUI source code at line 71 says

Quote: * Resident Evil: Dead Aim (Causes garbled textures)

Which one is correct?

http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-Official-...ide-v1-0-0 Wrote:Extra Rendering threads: This box is only usable when having selected a software rendering method. Here you can specify how many threads GSdx will use while software rendering, to take advantage of all cores your processor might have, e.g. set it to 3 for quad core processors. Boosts speed significantly in multi-core systems for software rendering with more than 2 cores.

It ought to be "set it to 2 for quad core processors"

The default value of "Extra rendering threads" is 0, I believe it's for taking care of dual-core CPU, so set it to 1 for triple-core CPU, set it to 2 for quad-core CPU.

no 1 = 1 core ( thread ) used

2 = 2 threads used etc...

because the GS was using a core and it will continue to do so there is no 0 right ?

I use 3 on a quad, and it works fine

apart from intrinsic one thread of gsdx from hardware rendering or software rendering,
i.e. at least one thread for gsdx software renderering, ensure dual-core cpu can use gsdx software mode.
for cpu multi-core greater than dual-core, it's bonus to supply "Extra rendering threads"

Anyway I shall set "Extra rendering threads" to 2 then 3 to see which value produces better FPS.
even 3 is not appropriate it won't crash pcsx2 but less FPS instead.
unfortunately I don't own quad-core to test it until I buy a Haswell cpu...
