your gsdx seems really old. try using the march plugins pack or even a svn, that maybe solve your problem. also try using d3d software maybe this will work
Nahh, that doesnt seem to be a gsdx related problem,it sounds like a bad iso,or a "too much speedhacks being used" problem,so first of all turn off all speedhacks, then enable the console and run the game, try to load using the in-game load/save feature,if it hangs on loading or you get any problem, take a look at the console when running the game and see if you got any errors and post it here
Hi, new user. Also new to PCSX2, so I'm sorry if this is a stupid question or if I'm just being stupid and can't figure this out or if it's already been answered (I searched the best I could). Whenever I try loading the game, I get to that screen and it freezes there. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be? If I use GSDX (any of them, it seems), I won't even be able to get to that screen. Oh, this is for God of War 1, just in case that wasn't obvious.

no its ok. download and install r1888 beta and march plugins as i said and try again with gsdx, also convert your game into iso u can do this with this http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
use gsdx sse4.1 spu2-x and run the game from the iso. (when u configure the emulator select the plugins with the highest version number, dont forget to do it in all the plugins. also in gsdx use native ps2 resolution cause your graphics card is not that fast)
to install the march plugins read the .txt it has instructions
