It isn't really an issue. It's a convenient feature.

And there's really no way to override the failsafe? You don't need to edit it directly. Just have a tickbox to apply x colors to every new profile.
It would have the same effect without being completely disjointed like the OP said.

Of course, this is a pretty specific setting. I dunno if it's worth the space in the settings tab to have a tickbox like that.
Maybe in the profiles tab somewhere, but I still dunno.

PC is recognizing controller and it works in the menu of Steam but not inside the game. DS4 isn't recognizing either. Any help would be appreciated.

Your SCP drivers are not installed, try reinstalling from the applications directory.
