i have recently become aware of widescreen patches and tried using one for the game ffx, i have the original ps2 disk i normally emulate from, and tried dumping it and adding the widescreen hack, and no dice, i also tried using the cheat feature and still no dice, even thought he log says the cheats were loaded successfully? ( comment: Widescreen/Eyefinity codes by Dark Magician (pnach by Dark Magician)
Cheats Loaded: 4 ) is there anything special you must do after using the patch to get the game to go i into widescreen?

i am using pcsx2 1.0 r5350 not sure if it matters or not

just tried a newer version: r5642 and it says 4 cheats loaded but overall 0 Widescreen hacks loaded? i think im doing something wrong.

From the readme:

"Download the latest version of PCSX2 which has built-in widescreen support.
Put the .pnach file in the "cheats_ws" folder in the PCSX2 directory.
Start PCSX2, go to System, and make sure "Enable Cheats" is checked.
You can enable the console to ensure that the emulator has found the patch."

Also, Eyefinity is not supported in the archive itself.

lol wow, im sry i guess i should look at what im downloading. its all working now

got it working at 5760x1080 in eyefinity using dark magicians patch

the map is a bit stretched but overall its a great experience

theres 2 screenshots showing what its like im only at the beginning so no beautiful bright places to take a screenshot of. thanks again devina40

You're welcome.
Personally, I wouldn't go further than 16:9 because of the stretched 2D, though it's your choice.
You can also disable the map and subtitles in the options if you want.
