PCSX2 - Widescreen Game Patches
(10-08-2013, 04:16 PM)VIRGIN KLM Wrote: My point is that I'll have to rip like 40 discs if I try it that way since I have like 40 combinations of code which may be working (or not), it's not like I know that the code works at all, I need to test it and ps2rdmod is the only route. I need someone with experience to help me, I may be doing something wrong but I need to find what.
You can just copy an elf file on usb device, then insert DVD in to PS2 and launch a modified elf file from usb.

Like with ulaunchelf or something like that? I thought OPL because it has exactly the same function.

Basically, search for 86 7e 00 46, and then change these three (red) addresses.
There's a good chance it'll work for a lot of games.

You should repost the method on the OP with the widescreen hacks, it's really useful.

I'd rather we just create a new guide, if you're willing to help.

OK tried it, the code I posted doesn't work. Weird since it's a sceVu0ViewScreenMatrix hack, it should work. Meh I guess the patch I have posted can get removed.

Actually I don't remember exactly how it was done, all I remember is that it was noob proof and it's a 2-3 step thing, pretty fast. (Didn't seem to work on Lifeline even though it had the same pattern on it's ELF).

I'm gonna try to hack it on PCSX2 again actually. The first loading screen is 3D, if I slow down the emulator to like 2-3FPS and make a savestate there it gives me enough time to search values and hack them. I know it's a dog's life job but I'll try.

It's not an universal solution and works only for some games

Thanx I'm gonna archieve it!
I'm pretty sure I found the address that it's responsible for widescreen on Lifeline, I even found the addresses for HUD but the address FOR the 3D stuff is a 3xx (DMA) address, is there a way I can find which instruction writes to this address to patch it so I can make it static?
