Loving the widescreen patches so far. However did see these two: Tekken Tag tournmanet (US) (can only find Korean & PAL Pnach's) and Onimusha 3 (US) a while ago, but now they seem to have disappeared. Wondered if someone has them? Cheers.

Do the new Persona 3/4 patches make the character portraits "jaggier" for anyone else? I don't have US or EU versions of the game to test, but based on nemesis' values for them I used some guesswork to come up with JP patch and this is the result.

it's because the game scaling all 2D objects without any filtering

I did a test, and I can confirm they are indeed jaggier on the US versions.
It's pretty obvious in the Mitsuru example, and a little less obvious in the Naoto example so I highlighted some areas.

I normally use texture filtering though, so I would have never noticed it.
If what Nemesis says is correct, guess we can't really do much, except turn on the filtering.

Not to be greedy, but I also hope for a menu fix as well for Persona 3 sometime in the future, because squished font is harder to read. Here's a bad photoshop.

I think it's bearable for Persona 4 (excuse the pun), because the font is white-on-black, and it's a teeny bit thicker as well. Here's a little comparison.

Thanks for confirming. Glad to know patch is correct too.

Setting filtering to full makes it look great, unfortunately now there's a graphical glitch every time a character blinks.. Gah

Maybe the texture filterer can be improved to fix the bugs.
For now, I'm just glad both Persona games run extremely well, and we have awesome widescreen hacks.

I think PCSX2 with widescreen is the ultimate way to enjoy the series.
Persona 3 Portable has a smaller resolution, no FMVs, no The Answer, no 3D maps outside Tartarus.
Persona 4 Golden seems to have no atmospheric lighting in dungeons, an unnecessary beep sound in menus, and Chie's new voice which has mixed reactions...

I'd still like to play P4G one day, but $250 on a Vita, combined with Sony's ridiculous proprietary memory card prices... blah.
