Note that the original scaling values are different as well. After having looked at SH2's FMVs a little closer I realized that the intro FMV is a different aspect ratio then the rest of the game, the intro is ~2.00 and the in game FMVs are ~1.55. In order to include the entire FMV as well as reduce pixelation/increase quality I've redone the hack with proper scaling at stretched 16:9. Original FMV: New PNACH:

Hello
Widescreen patch for "Drakengard" is bad for aerial mission with the dragon. Sides of the screen are not rendered correctly. CRC = 9679D44C

It can be extremely confusing for them, I know it was for me at first. I don't think it's laziness, but rather, lots of people legitimately have no idea what things are, and I wouldn't blame or frown upon anyone for not being able to do stuff like this. This is why good tutorials and instructions come in handy, and why we should make this as noob-friendly and accessible as possible.

Although most people would not understand it those of us with technical expertise wouldn't have to figure everything out from scratch (which is what I've had to do) and could start actually helping much faster.

Not because it's impossible, but because I can't locate a copy of the game. You'd probably have to send me the .elf file. There's also Final Mix, possibly with the English patch, if you really want the game in widescreen. It's the superior version anyway. I'll work on Final Fantasy X-2 (Japan) and Final Fantasy X-2 International + Last Mission (Japan) instead. Some HD Collections also get rid of black letterboxing in cutscenes. I personally prefer them without, and it'd be nice to see less games with them. |
