PCSX2 - Widescreen Game Patches
Hey just wondering if I could request an NTSC version of ElHecht's Here Comes The Pain patch? I've tried converting the PAL codes, but the camera fix either doesn't work or freezes at the menu.

Did you read my Region Port Guide? (link in my sig below)

Make sure the data corresponds for both the left and right side, or, at least, looks very similar.

Had read it, but for some reason used a normal hex editor and not ps2dis. Tried again with ps2dis and successfully ported.

It will not help you, because tekken 5 elf file is compressed.

My best bet to find a zoom code is 3F800000 (value 1), and change it to 3F400000 (value 0.75) in Cheat Engine, and see if the camera distance changes. It's usually in the 2xxxxxxx range.

I've already done that in the original patch, maybe it needs to be zoomed out further? I used the same calculations that you've just told me to but of course all games are different.

Here's a comparison:

No zoom out

Zoom out

Let me know if you think it needs zooming out further.

Hmm, it still looks a little off, as if the proportions aren't right. I think you should do a little more experimenting, or someone else should take a look at it.

Also, since game engines are usually the same, there's a good chance that the code will also work for the game's sequel.

hi, i been testing the .pnach for cvs2 (ntsc) and i have some bugs, they are from the .pnach or maybe from the gsdx config?

thx!

That's from the widescreen .pnanch. The game wasn't intended for widescreen and when you extend the screen, you sometimes uncover 'extra stuff'. It isn't a bug. If you don't want to see it, then it's probably best if you turn widescreen patches off for that game. Doesn't look too bad though. I'd still use the patch. It's interesting to know if the .pnach can stop the camera from scrolling when you're going near it though so you can't see it...

ElHecht's Drakengard 2 patch doesn't seem to be working at all, only the black border fix does... hmm.
