What error did Imgburn state?

Hm, I forgot already . I burned with Alcohol 120% before that, and if I'm not wrong the errors were generally "error reading disc". Sadly my FFX cd has scratches here and there due to lending to people T_T.
Erm Zekareisoujin, but did you tried to change your graphic plugin? Or didn't saw second half of my post? You're using SSSE3 version of GSdx yeah? Maybe that's the problem, as other person with similar problem like yours also used SSSE3 version of GSdx. Generally I only read that as I don't have intel cpu myself, but SSSE3 version doesn't add much if anything.
Change GSdx to SSE2 version and try again. Who knows, maybe you get lucky. In case your problem disappears, try running SSE4 version of GSdx, dunno why you stick to SSSE3 while having fairy new(well kind of;P) intel cpu with SSE4.1. If it hangs/crashes at both FFX(most compatible game) and even bios, then the plugin version doesn't really work with your hardware or your bios is corrupted and you'll need to dump it again. Sure it could just be scratched DVD not loading, but how you would explain crashing at bios then? Besides you said yourself, you can still play it at ps2, soo generally it's scratched in a way that can't be ripped completely, but the game can still run from it. It's even possible to buy a special "filler" for scratched cd/dvd discs and repair it a bit or try to rip it at different DVD drive with better error correction. GPU drivers? As long as you can play normal pc games that uses dx9/10 I see no reason your drivers would fail for pcsx2.

@miseru:
I've tried changing the plugins to SSSE2 and SSSE4, no difference afaik. Quote:Sure it could just be scratched DVD not loading, but how you would explain crashing at bios then?Precisely what I'm asking! My whole point is, I don't think my DVD is at fault here, because I can't even run to the PS2 BIOS. The one who is suspecting my DVD reader / plugins is Rezard, not me, so why are you questioning me =.=! Did you read the posts carefully? :| @Rezard: Anyway, I've tried my P3 FES ISO, not much difference. PCSX2 will still crash with D3D10 setting, and wont show anything with D3D9 setting. I've also tried selecting different plugins settings: namely SSSE2, SSSE4 vs SSSE3, and LinuzISO (at default setting) vs cdvdGigaherz and the result is the same. Here are the logs: When running the ISO with D3D10 setting, SSSE3 plugin: (PCSX2 crash) Code: PCSX2 0.9.8.r4600 - compiled on Apr 27 2011 When running P3FES ISO with D3D9 Hardware setting: (the game just seems to stop running altogether at this point, screen stays black) Code: PCSX2 0.9.8.r4600 - compiled on Apr 27 2011

This could also be an error with the undub version you are using, which is not uncommon.

What about the virtual BIOS configuration and the splash screen? I couldn't even run to that part...

OK it seems PCSX2 doesn't run at all for you? Here's some suggestions:
1)Uninstall and reinstall PCSX2 altogether. Keep your memory cards (if you want them) and only 1 BIOS file (you do know if you don't own all 4 PS2 consoles that those BIOS files came from it is illegal right?). Then try again 2)Use the DirectX web update here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/de...6652CD92A3&displaylang=en 3)Install Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 4)Check if there is a newer/better driver for your graphics card

If #1 and #2 don't do it, I'd suggest you re-rip an un-altered ISO from your P3FES disc.
AFAIK - There should be no need for SP1, but maybe Bositman knows something I don't.

Oh hey, I tried #2, and it works . Download and installing the directX web update does the job. Thanks a lot, I'll be posting if there's any further problem. By the way, so what exactly is the problem here? Since dxdiag shows that my DirectX version is 11 b4 this.
Another question, is it still possible to transfer save data from PS2 mem card to PC? I googled this and found some threads from 2008, so I wanna check if this is still possible. P.S: I use the binary version btw, not the window installer version

Did you read the posts carefully? :|yeah, just wanted to make you feel how it is when an reply seem to ignore like half what you wrote. My last idea was bad bios dump(which also seems to not be noticed:C), you could test it by choosing GSNull as your GS plugin, and trying to run CDVD at "no disk" to enter bios/ps2 menu. If you hear sounds, then it's something related to your gpu<->gs plugin or DX<->gs plugin, if nothing would be heard then your bios dump is good for nothing or you have problem with sound too >.<. Anyway that's for my ideas, I cannot think about anything else. Wish you luck through. Edit ==== Guess I was slow writing O.o well I like never updated anything in OS manually from the time I upgraded to Win7 soo I wouldn't come even close;P. Good you resolved your problem. |
