That has nothing to do with Git, it's what the coder types when he makes a commit. It just happened to be short descriptions since it's nothing complex in these last commits.

On https://github.com/PCSX2/pcsx2/commits/master , you can click the line of the change, and you'll see all the code which changed (like you expanded all the changes in all the files on google code svn). If you click "Show diff stats" it'll show the list of modified files (like the default list on a revision page on google code).
It's quite similar really from that point of view.

It makes it easier for non-members to submit modifications and for members to accept them.
