Oh for me then. Well yeah what I said so far and
Games that give me issues?
Xenosaga: A few cutscenes will drop to 55FPS or so, one mech battle was 50% speed. Those particular battles are ridiculously demanding and slow down on almost any rig.
Ratchet and Clank Series: Requires software mode. 3 software threads + EE cycle hack to 3 and I get 57-60FPS most of the time
Burnout 3: Takedown: Some occasional drops to 55, very infrequent drops to 51 or so,
In the latter two cases, yeah a faster processor would help.
I play usually on 3x or 4x.
No I'm not considering upgrading. I built this rig in the last half of 2013 and I'm really poor. This will be my rig for a few years.
4.4 is a somewhat decent OC, most people with FX6300 can go higher than I did and with less voltage. My chip is not a super overclocker. Still 4.4Ghz is very nice performance.
I highly doubt you would be unhappy if you went with the FX6300, especially since it's only $109 and you don't need to upgrade your mobo. As long as your mobo supports AM3+
