most games will be slow to unplayable, but it can start
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X

I'm not so sure about that. His specs aren't much lower than mine, and all mine run at 59.93 FPS (60 FPS), excepting those whose native speed was at 30 FPS.

Dell XPS 14z:

Intel Core i5 2450m Speed Step up to 3.0GHz (maybe a lil higher, I can't remember)
750GB HDD @ 7200RPM
8GB DDR3 RAM
Intel HD 3000

If anything it would be RAM in this case. Processor's not so different. Both are multi-threaded, but the i5 has Speed Step. A virtual quad-core processor should be able to handle this emulator. It's not so heavy as all of you make it out to be. I was able to run Monster Hunter @ around 45-50 FPS on an old Inspiron 1525 from '09 with a Core 2 Duo @ 2.00Ghz with 4GB RAM and the Intel GMA 965 integrated graphics.

Now Dolphin can be a heavy emulator...

Hi guys.

I'm planning on buying a notebook (budget won't permit higher pc's T_T), and this one caught my attention. Do you think this baby could run PCSX2? Thanks!

Acer Aspire One AO756-877
Intel 877 (2 MB L3 cache, 1.40 GHz, DDR3 1333 MHz, 17 W), supporting Intel® 64 architecture,
Mobile Intel® HM70 Express Chipset
4GB DDRIII
Intel® HD Graphics with 128 MB

It could run it, but it's doubtful you'd get a playable speed. Its slower than that old notebook I mentioned earlier. It had around 380 MB graphics memory and a faster processor.

the best budget solution for pcsx2 is always a desktop, invest the same amount of money in a notebook or a desktop and the desktop will be the faster option. a notebook suited for pcsx2 will be rather expensive, as it should feature a current intel dual/quad core cpu with at least 2.0 ghz (better make that 2.5+ ghz) and a dedicated gpu (i.e. not an integrated one like in your example). and in addition to that notebooks are prone to overheating under the amount of stress that pcsx2 produces.

so as the previous poster already stated, yes you will be able to run some less demanding games with the help of speedhacks, but your emulation experience will be very limited by both cpu and gpu performance in the majority of ps2 games.

Well, first, thanks for the awesome emulator everyone. And... following the idea of the thread, these are my specs

Operating System = Microsoft Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 64-bit
Physical RAM = 8190 MB ddr 3
CPU name = AMD Athlon™ II X4 640 Processor
Vendor/Model = AuthenticAMD (stepping 03)
CPU speed = 3.012 ghz (4 logical threads)
My videocard is an ati radeon hd 6670 of 1 gb (tho due to some bizarre issues at some games causing bluescreen I am using a 6600 generic ati driver rather than the 6670 specific one.)

So far I tried Okami and a few others that ran beautifully, Zone of the enders runs at half speed most of the time XD. So, my question was, any games I should try, or configuration I should consider for mroe speed, besides what was listed as default in the configuration guide?

Well, your GPU is definitely up to pretty much anything, if the rules haven't changed. It's almost as powerful as a GTX 260.

In terms of CPU performance, not so much, being a pretty old AMD CPU. It trails behind the 5 year-old Q6600, even though the clock difference.

But I'd say they match. Try out Tekken 4 and see how many frames you get Smile

tekken 4 huh? thanks! i'll look at it and let you guys know. Also, regarding the cpu, well the wonders of living where I do, it was expensive as hell to make that machine... got it at christmass of 2011. I guess my cpu is my chokepoint, like at ZoE, I actually get 100% on the spots where it slows down. I ma not expecting miracles but I guess, getting 50% speed at worst in such a game is a good sign?, it means it can only go up XD.
