Read first: Will PCSX2 run fast on my computer?

Your card has to be fast enough (and have a high enough memory bandwidth) to take advantage of that extra ram, else the GPU itself will be starved and stall long before that extra ram can do anything useful.

So wait, is this sufficient then? It runs the PCIe at x16 and the memory bandwidth is [clocked at?] 80 GB/sec.

For PCSX2, most games will run at 2-3x native... so yes, it's fine.

Laptops aren't that great for pcsx2 but there are a few things you can try. Play in native resolution as the gpu is weak. Run in hardware mode. Make sure your power management is on high performance. Try the MTVU hack. Check your cooling to prevent throttling. Experiment with EE timing and VU cycle stealing to see if that helps.

If all else fails, try this...

My computer specs are

Intel Core 2 Duo E7400 @ 2.8GHz

Win7 Ultimate 64 bit

3.5GB Ram

Nvidia Geforce GT 440 1GB GDDR5

Would this be sufficient enough to run it?

I mainly want to play old Need for Speed games and Armoured Core series

Old cpu, weak gpu.
Dunno about the AC series, but NFS games will be slow whatever you do.
CPU : AMD Ryzen 7 3800X
Mobo : Asus PRIME B450-PLUS
GPU : NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070
RAM : 16 Go

Armored Core 2 and Another Age, sometimes yes, but you will struggle during cutscenes. 3 and upwards, sometimes yes, but sometimes there are extreme gpu demands, especially in missions involving radiating heat waves. For the most part you should be ok. You may need to overclock your cpu to about 3.2 ghz to be safe.

Hmm... so right now I finaly got back my old motherboard GA-990XA-UD3 from factory (after 8 months...)
The games I usualy plays are Armored Core 3 , Champions : Return to Arms , FFXII , Xenosaga

I was wondering if I could get better FPS in general using those specs :

GA-990XA-UD3
FX-8350
Powercolor HD 6870X2
8GB Kingston HyperX Beast 1600Mhz

My old specs were :

ASRock FM2A85X Extreme6
A8-5500 @ 4.4Ghz
Powercolor HD 6870X2
8GB Kingston HyperX Beast 1600Mhz
My specs atm :

Only if you overclocked the 8350 over the 4.4ghz.

They both use the same CPU cores, so you'll get pretty much the same results aside from statistical randomness

alrighty then , I think i'll keep my A8-5500 for the moment that it lasts (since it's starting to do artifacts using the integrated GPU) xD
