I am neither a fanboy AMD or Intel Fanboy ^ ^.

That's why I wondered if you had the bench PCSX2 to get the best frequency of a stockSmile

Thank you for responding, so I'll probably opt for the i5 (unless someone has a better offer me in terms of processor, either Intel or AMD

Because according to you the i5 750 is a better stock than the Phenom 965 has stock, so I'll opt for the i5.

Expect improvements when you have DX11 on DX10?
Get this cpu if you want hyperthreading and better overclockability

Hyperthreading helps hugely out in certain things like video encoding and 3d rendering, it also slightly helps software mode for pcsx2. If you want to sacrafice clock rate for hyperthreading to get a lower price get one of these. It costs 70 dollars more than the i5 750 so you are basically paying 70 dollars for the extras

These cpus also overclock better because they are better binned.

133mhz slower than i5 750

266mhz slower than i5 750
What is software mode? This is to simulate when Dx10 was not a Dx10 card?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_rendering

It's basically rendering without using the hardware acceleration of a dedicated graphics card, so it relies heavily on your CPU. Since the CPU is a general purpose chip, it typically renders slower than a decent mid to high end graphics cards. In PCSX2, it is more compatible with games than hardware mode.
It provides a speed increase compared to hardware mode? ?
nope, its much slower actually
It's more accurate tho, some games need it to work at all also.
i see you have not indicated a price range, and assuming you have the $$$ go for the i5.

if not, then go for the phenom.
Finally, I have time before ordering the whole, while I advise you (as a priority for emulation / PC games)

Wait for the i5 650-660-670? or take an i5 750?

I saw that even if it is a dual core, the 650 has 4 virtual cores ... and hyperthreading ... but 2 times less cache!

But it probably does not much comfort in multitasking?

PCSX2 is he going to take advantage of quad core?
Hyperthreading isn't as good as physical activated cores are. PCSX2 at some point may take advantage of more than 2 cores, but it won't be any time soon, and it's not clear yet how much increase in speed this would garner.

That said, having a couple extra cores isn't a bad thing, especially if you have things running around in your background... They are much less likely to affect your gaming experience on PCSX2... But in the end, it's completely up to you which you'd prefer. Either setup will probably play pcsx2 fine in 90+% of situations.
