As far as I know, the GS doesn't have features that current GPUs don't. The issue is that some of those features work differently and produce different results, therefore requiring slower methods of emulating them. Accurate blending is done with a pixel shader instead of on your GPUs dedicated blending hardware, meaning it's slower. The full accurate blending does even more to ensure correct results. Not sure what, but it's demanding.
