I'm curious about this; do you know what this effect is called? I know we can't expect to emulate everything yet, but I thought DirectX should be able to handle PS2 graphics, considering that PC graphics look better than the PS2's.

It's just certain methods of blurrin, fog etc which are not quite native to how direct x works making it difficult to reproduce

It's not necessarily that the end result looks better or is graphically more impressive than something directX can produce, it's just done in a different way that doesn't translate well.

Using pcsx2 0.9.7 r3878 video capture option i captured all cut scenes from Xenosaga Episode I (7 hours) and Xenosaga Episode II (5 hours) and made them into high quality movies, but now i have texture problems with Xenosaga Episode III. There are 3 types of cut scenes in Episode III, 1. original source wide screen cut scenes, 2. game generated wide screen cut scenes, 3. game generated full screen dialogue cut scenes. I have texture problems with those "game generated wide screen cut scenes" (no problems with 1 and 3), when they are played there's two problems, 1. characters and objects have something like "double image shadow", 2. there's texture problem with wide screen black borders, textures are not "cut" and going out of border (see attachments). How to fix this problem? If i choose Renderer: Direct3D9 (Software) there's no problem with video, but video quality (resolution) is very bad, i can't make movie like this. I have all savestate saves before cut scenes, but i can't start capture with this texture problem. Please help.

CPU E8400, GPU GTX260, RAM 4GB DDR3, Win XP. I tryed using GF 8600 GTS and ATI Radeon x1950, but it's the same texture problem.

That only happens under the D3D9 (hardware) renderer, should be fine with software as you already saw and D3D10/11 ones should be fine too but unfortunately not an option for XP.

I just tryed under Windows 7 x64 and problem nr 2 is solved, but problem nr 1 "double image shadow" is still there. Is it possible to fix this?

Select a scaling resoltuion (x2/x3/x4/etc) and enable the "Offset hack".

hi... i'm Randhy Smile

i've got some problems with Gsdx 10 when playing Super Robot Taisen series, especially [SLPS-25733] Super Robot Taisen Original Generations and [SLPS-25836] Super Robot Taisen Original Generations Gaiden.

[Image: 5645054564_43c5483d26.jpg]every time i use D3D upscaling , there's always a kind of "tearing" right at the center of the screen, especially when playing FMVs.

also, in some in-game screens, there're some glitches in the background textures, some heavy black lines appear out of nowhere.

yet, these glitches won't show up if Native Resolution is checked... i tried some US games, say Dragon Ball Z Infinite World, and the screens are fine even with D3D Upscaling. these glitches show up only on (some, though) Japanese games... compatibility issues or plugin problems ? anyone knows how to fix this, please ?

i used PCSX2 0.9.7.3876m (svn) Oct 5 2010, with GSdx 3693 (MSVC 15.00, SSE41) 0.1.16 [GSdx-sse4]

my spec :
Windows 7 Ultimate x64
Intel Core i7 860 @2.80GHz
8GB RAM
Ati Radeon HD5870 1GB
Directx 11

thats to be expected, the image is "tiled" in such a manner that the upscaling causes the usually transparency edges to increase in size and cause breaks between the textures.
