On pcsx2 you'll only notice a difference (if even then) if the game required interlacing, and FFX doesn't. (Well, the pal one doesn't at least)
Edit: I'd be curious to try it myself aswell, as Star Ocean 3 pal requres interlacing

Anyone up to patching Zone of the Enders The Second Runner (SLES 51113) ? I'm planning on using it to make a high-res video with PCSX2 to show them that the HD version is teh sux and would be great if I had proper 16:9 or even 16:10 support.
Thanks

You might need an ELF patch, If I remember right, we couldn't find a working pnach edit for the ZotE games (?)
Have you tried:
Code: 00008144 0A0A4234 803F013C 00308144
to
00008144 0A0A4234 403F013C 00308144
or
Code: 803F013C 00088144 30000526 10000226
to
403F013C 00088144 30000526 10000226
I don't have the game myself so I can't check those.
Edit: You probably know how already, but in case you don't. Just open the games' ISO with an unpacker, I just use WinRAR, and take out the elf file, open it up in a hex editor (I use HxD) and just search with find/replace, and search for the first address, and replace it with the second.
Then save the file as 'whatever'.elf. Pop it in the game's folder, and load up the iso in the dvd plugin, and run elf.

*sigh* I guess I'm too noobish with these widescreen helping programs or maybe it just can't be done.
I'd like to request that someone more experienced try getting
-Drakan: The Ancients' Gates
and
-Timesplitters (1)
to work. Please and thank you!
And thanks so much to those that have brought us this many patches so far! <3 <3 <3

I don't like the mix-up of 16-9 & 16-10 patches in your collection, so I made a better solution
in which the 16-9 patches are put in the main folder, while the 16-10 are placed in a sub-folder.
Please review and replace.
Thank you.

It's almost 2013, I just don't see the point of 16:10 support when manufacturers are phasing it out with 16:9, and 99% of this collection is 16:9. I figure you've been making 16:10 patches because you own a 16:10 monitor, but maybe it's time to move onto 16:9?
I hadn't realized that both Tomb Raiders offered in-game 16:9, making me wonder if I should just delete both games.
It's all a matter of opinion really, but I just don't see the point, especially in the long run. If enough people disagree with this, then I'll include the 16:10 patches, but for now, I'm on the fence.

The 16:10 was a bright idea from someone who thought was nice to watch a video in full windowed 16:9 mode without loosing sight on the task bar
Other than this it is out of every media standard over there.
PS: Actually the manufacturers phased out into that alien "standard" 16:10 and now are just returning to where should not have left.

Meh. 16:9 is clearly inferior, so no, they shouldn't have moved away from 16:10 for PC monitors again. 16:10 offers more useable screen space, which is ultimately what's important in that area. It's actually preferable for PS2 gaming with widescreen patches as well, as the 2D text and UI elements created for 4:3 won't get stretched as much. Looks noticeably better.
If all you do is watch movies on your PC, then yeah, might as well stick with 16:9, everything else, hell naw. But yeah, it's neither here nor there, as 16:10 is getting increasingly rare.

Not really willing to start a fight, it's just a question of standards... the 16:10 is less a "widescreen" and that's pretty much the reason for 16:9 is the standard.
PS: notice the aspect ratio does not dictate actual screen resolution that is what really decides "useable screen space"
There is the subjective experience that's not directly linked with the screen size also (but in the format)... the sensation of "panoramic" is greater in a widescreen than in more square format.
PPS: Besides, most (all that I know about) PS2 games that allow choosing the aspect ratio directly have two options: 16:9 or 4:3
