Removing the top code line for CVS2 fixes the backgrounds but in MVC2, it messes up the title screen and most background elements are cut off when you reach the far sides of most stages. Removing the top and bottom code lines results in those being fixed in MvC2, but beam attacks get broken.

Nemesis, do you know if it's possible to change the FOV of RE: Code Veronica so that it matches the HD Remaster version?

The original game (even in 4:3) looks way too wide.

Here's a video for reference:

Please take another look. They definitely did narrow the FOV more, and made it a little more vert-.
But since we don't want verti-, we just want to try to make the FOV a little narrower.

The game hard coded for 4:3, expanding hor fov, shows empty spaces in many places. Cutscenes also very strongly hardcoded for 4:3, even code for clipping of some objects stored not in the elf file. So see no reason break 16:9 aspect to match HD version in some places. Also in my last reupdate of the RE CV WS patch, to prevent clipping in cutscenes, hor fov+ removed at all.

I'm sure it isn't possible because they are video files, but would it be possible to convert the FMV's of Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2 final mix to 16:9? they have letterboxing so thankfully they are correct aspect ratio.

If not with pnachs, Is it possible to removed, crop, and replace the files?

I think I got it, using your latest patch:

Quote:patch=1,EE,001322a0,word,3c023fc0 //ab is default, c0 looks better
patch=1,EE,00354CE0,word,3f800000 //zoom out

This makes the game look a million times better, and sure, there are some areas with invisible doors, but they show in default widescreen anyway. Also, it gets better later in the game.

What I did was change the ab to c0, which made the game narrower, but also zoomed it in too much.
So I found the zoom value and zoomed it out to counter it.

I already ported FMV hacks for KH1.

As for KH2, no FMV hacks yet.

because it's not a zoom, it's vert- fov

also, it's not a zoom too, real zoom here

besides increasing hor fov will cause this in many places

How is the zoom value I found not a "zoom"?
I'll play around with the one you found later, I'm moving tomorrow.

As long as it's c0, I don't really mind the missing geometry as much as you do.
I think the narrower FOV of the HD version is more important.
I did a full playthrough of the game a few months ago and don't remember anything too bad.

I think the worst offender is the gate when Claire meets Steve for the first time, then after that, it's rather minor.

For a compromise, I'll try keeping it c0 and zooming it so that all the minor missing geometry is hidden, because I feel that's the best outcome for this game.

Do you know if there's a separate zoom for cutscenes and gameplay? Kind of like the cutscene-only zoom for KH2. If so, then let's try finding the best values for both.
