We need to port the NTSC-U version to PAL so it can be cleared from the requests. Think you can do that for me?

Off topic, but surely everyone heard about the PS4's new ability to emulate ps2 games? They even added trophy support and bumped up the resolution to 1080p, BUT of course, they still haven't implemented widescreen. SO YEAH FOR US!!! We're still relevant lol Smile *clap clap clap*

Anyways, we seem to getting off topic for ps2 widescreen patches, so to get the ball rolling, I have a few suggestions. We already have a large amount of patches, so should we start looking at other fixes, like HUD, FMVs text, etc?

Also, with regards to difficult stuff, like character portraits, titles logos, and such, has anyone tried simply extracting those pictures from the game's ISO, resizing them (75% width) and putting them back in? Then, maybe we can just implement that in a PFF patch or something (also including the widescreen codes we already have)? I'm not a programmer, so I'm only assuming that with most games, those images are just static are simply output in their native size regardless of what it is. Hence why we can't change them in-game...

I noticed less and less people trying to find codes themselves, and maybe a bit afraid to get their feet wet, so I made a pretty in-depth tutorial for anyone interested on psx-scene.

Lastly, this isn't really a request, but perhaps everyone could pitch in and try out nemesis' 480p code for every game that they have on native hardware (an actual ps2). Because surely 16:9 + 480p would be the ideal goal, no?

And always, Great Work Everyone. Awesome stuff. Smile

Yes, i tried to port it now, but the value that controls the hor fov from the NTSC-U version do not works in the PAL version... Sad
Seems there is something different, after all this long time for have the patch for this game, and now when is made for one
version cannot be ported...
I tried to make it also with another different values but not luck, only encountered one zoom.

Maybe you or Sergx12 could take a look to the PAL version please.

Best regards.

They're charging for those emulated games, so they're not relevant.

@flameofrecca: Yes, we've always been trying to make FMV hacks, font hacks, HUD hacks, character portrait hacks, etc, but it can be extremely difficult depending on the game. Sad

Nemesis is skilled at that stuff, and he's done some great work on the Persona games regarding this.

In regards to the "extract texture, narrow it and put it back in" method, I know that some were able to do this with Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2. How? I have no idea. Note how the HUD in the bottom right isn't stretched:

Even if I wanted to, I couldn't since there's no download links on it.

And if the NTSC-U code can't be ported over, chances are, I can't do much.

Your best bet is to send the entire game, or an .elf file, to Sergx12.
