Resolved: Gsdx plugin crash on latest builds
#21
This is what I tried:
1.Removing the latest drivers and installing 344.60 which were working till now
2.Deleting the GSdx.ini and trying again
3.Downloading dev builds and running them with no existing settings
4.Placing GSdx in older pcsx2 versions(even the ancient pcsx2-r1888)
5.Disabling the nvidia card so only the hd4600 to work

All of those lead to the same thing...every attempt to enter the GSdx settings(starting pcsx2 and directly go there or start a game and go there or from Config=>Plugin/BIOS Selector=>Config or GSdx)results on pcsx2 to crash.
The only way to configure those newer versions is to use some older version of GSdx,configure everything and then switch to the newer and use it without configuring it.

For "Fault Module Name" is says "StackHash_some number" and sometimes ntdll.dll

Maybe try completely removing the driver with a cleaner.

That's how I removed 344.60 before installing 344.75 and removing 344.75 and installing 344.60 after that.

Well crap.

This is strange, since rolling back doesn't work.

how about placing older gsdx plugin version's like (0.9.8) in the new one.and, i still couldn't find the folder where, the name of my cpu is written.and, it's obviously not in the same directory where, the folder with the name of the gpu was written.

He already said putting older gsdx with current PCSX2 works.

My guess is maybe the configuration dialog is polling the system's openCL somehow and that's causing the crash.

The init code looks okay but maybe it's missing some failure checking. Does anybody know how to bail out properly with OpenCL issues? Tongue2

File: GSSettingsDlg.cpp
Search ocl string

The gui try to poll some devices informations => GSUtil::GetDeviceDescs
