[Testers Wanted] PCSX2-CE for OS X (v1.0!)
Playing under OSX is not the best idea. Actually building an hackintosh and playing the pcsx2-ce version sounds a bit contra productive. Why don't you consider dual boot to windows or linux?

At stock your cpu has a stp of 1k. If I include naively your OC I would get 1500 points. That is more or less the threshold we consider for stable fps. Probably the wineskin layer slows you down. Also you now use a different gs plugin than on windows, or?

Thanks for your response. I have a MBPR though, but I want to make all machines that I have to use their UI to OSX, so I don't want to boot to Windows frequently just for a game, that makes me to reset all working stuff for each reboot.

I was thinking about that wineskin slow it down. But after checking low CPU usage, finding my VGA is not shown as R270, maybe the problem is caused by wineskin or something(like X11 or XQuartz) tell wrong VGA type.

And indeed I have dual boot now, so I tried PCSX2 on Windows and tested all listed gs plugin, ZeroGS and using GSdx with OpenGL are slow at Windows also. GSdx with d3d(9 or 11)gets best performance in both platform(30fps max at OSX though).

I already use this option with Win7 in winetrick, and set force use mac driver instead of X11 at Screen option page. I have to set the Screen option or I will get crash at game startup screen.

For enable Force using XQuartz, PCSX2 can still start up but running very slow speed (around 2 fps).

Disable force using XQuarz and hit Test Run I can see PCSX2, then start game I get following log:

By the way, with macdriver if I use Gsdx with OpenGL, after I applied the plugin or start game, PCSX2 will stop game and complain following:

Don't use XQuartz or x11 mode, they are slow as ships!!!

Enable the Mac driver, install d3dcompiler_43 in winetricks menu, and select Direct3D9 (Software) in the GSdx menu.

In the SPU2X menu, select Portaudio from the drop down menu.

That's as fast as you get, the multiple software threads doesn't work because GSdx uses an unimplemented function in the VS2012 runtime !!!

I've been meaning to check out why wine can't parse the HLSL shaders correctly that GSdx generates...

OK, I did install didcompiler_43 with other stuff, so all I do now is to enable macdriver at Set Screen Options and Winetrick, then use D3D9 Software at PCSX2, by whatever I check or uncheck the two XQuartz, fps drop to about 5 fps, is there anything I need to check?
