I tried selecting the VU micro option under CPU but that didnt change anything.
I never noticed this issue on earlier versions, but going back to them, the flickering is happening there. I really didnt play the game before though- it seems like it gets worse after the battle has gone on for a minute or so. In prior testing (before the texture issue was fixed), I loaded this save game and then instigated a battle just to make sure the characters werent upside down (as they were with the stable release) and then closed the app. Either something has changed (which I dont see how), or the flickering problem has been around on earlier versions. I know nothing about pcsx2, but im going to try running this plugin under the stable version (prolly not possible) and Ill let you know. If its a core emulation bug that would resolve this issue Im assuming. I am shooting in the dark here, so if anyone has any ideas ill give them a shot. As I said, Ill let you know if any new versions fix the issue.
*EDIT* I used an old XP install cd for an OEM laptop I used to have and actually put a small partition on my HD, edited grub, booted XP, installed the beta of pcsx2 and my nvidia drivers, and the textures are perfect and as well there is no flickering of the characters in battle. Both versions lag in sound (dont really care) and have artifacts around the text in menu's (also dont really care), but the gameplay and everything is perfect. I guess I can use XP for 30 days until the activation shuts it down, but I probably wont.. rather use Linux
*EDIT2* Im amazed it actually loaded, but using that plugin with the stable version seems to be at least the same and maybe worse in terms of flickering (maybe its just me). The sound and speed is notably worse on the stable version.
