This is really getting off topic. I agree that illegal/rebranded packages shouldn't be used. But surely some repackage for the benefit of others. Unofficial daily builds could be one such example. Surely not for the faint of heart, but I wouldn't describe them as crap either.
maybe, but you're supposed to compile the source code yourself...
When you get an unofficial build who knows what part of the code has been modified ?
trusting precompiled svn builds is up to you, but it isn't supported here.

End of the off topic, back to Gt4 problems, now.
Near Constant 60 FPS Always 52+ on my rig

I7 920 @3.6GHZ
6GB DDR3 @ 1700MHZ
ATI 5850

Most speedhacks are on No VU speed hack or MU Min Max.
ee is on 3x
ee/iop is on normal clamp VU has no clamp
1024x1024 internal DX10 Res

=]
specs:

Athlon II X3 435 @ 3.1 Ghz
ATI Radeon 5570 @ 700/950Mhz
4GB DDR3 @ 1333Mhz

getting between 30 and 40fps during races, which is unacceptable

is this all I can expect given my system, or can I optimize a bit?

I have tried skipping frames, but it does not help, tried different interlacing, nothing

also, my sound seems a bit high pitch and sounds like there is some reverb, even though i have it off, what gives? tried messing with latency to no avail

btw, what gives? Why does it take such massive hardware to run these old ass games?

thanks,
1) use native res
2) maybe unticking 8-bit textures may improve speed.
3)put both clamps to NONE (creats problems-small speedup)

and yeah probably thats your limit. i kinda get those fps also with my specs (better gpu and better clock for clock speed in cpu)

your sound probably sounds like that cause you have the worst quality settings there
tried those changes

think the fps may have actually gone down

and the sound is no better at the second from the best

Hey there. I had the same problem with low fps during races. I found out the problem for me personally, was with the "GS plug-in." Try all of them, until you find a good one. If you tried all of them to no avail, then i would suggest downloading more additional GS plug-ins, from the web. Before, I was getting around 5-15 fps during races. Now, im gettin above 60 fps, with this particular GS plug-in. GSdx 872m (MSVC 15.00, SSE41) 0.1.12 [GSdx-sse4]

The new 9.7 beta only gave me FIVE GSdx plugins. The standard choice i was using was "GSdx 3068 SSE4" which worked well with just about every game i have, except GT4. I tried all of the plug-ins that came with 9.7, and none of those worked on GT4. I had to download an additional plug-ins to get the right one for GT4.

You have Raedeon and i have nvidia, so i dont know which plug-in will works for you. If you need all the plug-ins that i newly acquired, PM me. I will send them your way.

My specs:
Intel Core i7 920 2.67 ghz(non-overcloked)
6 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 275

It will be great if you can help me

Hi there! can you please tel me hou did you solve your problem??
I would really appreciate it....thanks in advance
Hi All!,

I'm having a small problem, I can get in game and all but when I'm just about to start a race or license or whatever, the emulator crashes.

Here's the screenshots of how far I can get in the game (if i press X to continue it crashes), along with my plugins and settings. (I'm using a newly released revision from Aug. 5th).

The error I get from windows indicate a problem with the GSdx-ssse3.dll plugin but I get the same thing from every single plugin I tried (others are less quality but still crash).

I've tried tweaking the speedhacks and other options according to what you guys have said but still no go.

I can play other games, but not this one Sad

Any ideas?

Thanks!

What are your settings for EE and VU Clamping mode? Try with Extra.

Why particular internal resolution? Any reason, is it better that way?
