Edit: BTW has anyone gotten nemesis's Dark Cloud elf hack working? I'm especially curious about NTSC-J or PAL, because I found a very similar value (0000BF7F 803F023C 00608244 xx) but changing it does nothing. In fact I changed every instance of 803F023C 00608244 but no widescreen. I'm wondering if it's something entirely different for non NTSC-U versions

It works with the PAL version, too. I got 2 results when searching for "0000BF7F 803F023C 00608244", the first one was the fov value.

synce, you can try f0ffbd27 0000bf7f 803f023c first instance. it work for ntsc and pal.

You can .ELF hack Silent Hill 2 with Haunting Ground's value, except cars and street signs are still mapped as 4:3 so when you change your camera view or walk around then they move weird.

Yup, that's the one I was editing, but nothing happens. I've ported a few other hacks to NTSC-J and unusually the value was somewhat similar, but Dark Cloud is entirely different. Edited every '803fxx3c 00' with no success... So I guess some games are kinda weird
