Works only for 3D, as well as battle scenes.
Note that due to this restriction, you'll see some occasional alignment issues, such as the flames in the first pic not being on the sticks.
I didn't do much testing with it.

Any chance someone can give me a hand? Having a lot of trouble with the patch for Splinter Cell Double Agent. It works but only in the first level up until the first in game loading screen. With cheats enabled the game freezes while trying to load past it, and with it disabled I can't re-enable it for any level after. By this I mean, I can turn on cheats, go into the first level to verify it's widescreen, exit and go into a subsequent level and it won't be widescreen anymore.

Please specify the CRC of your disc (find it in the textout window).

Edit:
Also specify your "Emulation Settings" and your GSdx settings (if you are using Windows).

Using PSCX2 1.0.0.r5350

Game CRC = 0xC0498D24

Emulation Settings:
Default EE/IOP, VUs, GS
GS Window set to 16:9

Speedhacks: I've tried the default, everything off, and everything on. Currently set to everything on except MTVU, EE Cyclerate on 2, VU Cycle Stealing on 1

No game fixes

Using GSdx 5334 (MSVC 16.00, AVX) 0.1.16 [gsdx32-avx-r5350]:
Renderer: Direct3D9 (Software)
Interlacing: Auto
Extra Rendering Threads: 3
Edge anti-aliasing: on

I've tried changing options, using hardware, changing the GSdx version, but none of that seems to help the freezing or getting widescreen back

@mysticalpidgeon:
C0498D24 = NTSC-U - not my region,
however try with the latest version of PCSX2.
Also try with VU Cycle Stealing = 0.

Edit:
And try with disabling AA1.
Also (unless you have Windows XP) change renderer to DirectX 10/11.
MTVU should be set on (to support multicore-CPU).
Also try with HW-mode (unless your GraphixCard sux).

Will do, I'll report back once I've tried all that. The reason I'm using software instead of hardware mode is that hardware mode breaks the thermal imaging goggles and makes them a blue fuzz instead of properly working, but software doesn't.

Tried with all your suggestions, still freezes while loading. Also noticed something in the console: When it freezes I get a whole bunch of TLB Miss errors
Code:
