Read first: Will PCSX2 run fast on my computer?
I'm having an issue where games that I've played so far (Ratchet and Clank 1 and NFS: Most Wanted) run at 60FPS most of the time, but get frequent drops to as low as 45FPS, usually 55FPS.

I don't believe hardware itself should be an issue, my specs are;
i7-6700k @ default settings, no OC'ing (4.0 GHz)
GTX 1070
16GB DDR4-3200

yes, pcsx2 should run correctly on your PC.
most games will run fine.

Can anyone help here? I use HW Rendering at 3x Native. Recently upgraded from my RX 460 to a GTX 1650. My benches put the nVidia card >= 100% more powerful than the AMD. Yet I'm getting worse performance now. AFAIK, nVidia is better for most emulation so WTF?

Edit: Solved.
A driver + kernel update corrected this. I suggest you use backports for kernel and nvidia drivers.

Also, this is officially redundant since there's now active work being done by the Arch people and someone's been kinda enough to make AppImages for all distros. See this thread:

Why not run it first then decide?

Run dxdiag in start for actual stats

Hello, I tried to play dragon quest on my PC but the game is running slow (sometimes it's at 100%, sometimes at 14% idk why)

Windows 10
LAPTOP-T0BV3286 (Asus)
AMD E2-7015 APU with AMD Radeon R2 Graphics 1.50 GHz
4,00 Go (3,43 Go usable)
64 bits, processor x64

it's not enough isn't it ? :/

Thanks by advance

I've just bought a new pc that was solely for emulation thats arriving next week so I'm hoping this will allow me to run pcsx2 in most games at perhaps 1080p?

I5 10600k
4gb gtx1650
16gb ddr4 3200

Have I cheaped out on any of the above or should I be mostly OK?

Above recommended specs, should be fine for most games.

5500u ryzen 5 (2.0 ghz and 4ghz boost). Vegas 7 graphics.
8 go ran 3200 MHz. Games only run at native, 720p or 1080p drops to 20 FPS on the 2d menus! What could be wrong? In contrast dolphin pushes 1080p perfectly

Hello! Loving your ps2 emulator and getting to relive some cherished fun from almost two decades ago when I was a younger more carefree man.

i5 4670k oc 4.2 and gtx 960 4gb with 16gb ddr3 2133.

Using 1.6.0 with baldurs gate dark alliance I and II along with champions of norrath iso on sataIII ssd for some quality old school hack n slash rpg goodness.

So far using avx2 plugin with opengl hardware render on 3x upscale with the optional shaders turned on and using the hack for snowblind games and am getting a steady 60 most everywhere and the games look fantastic on my big screen.

However in norrath some of the more busy fights especially with lots of enchanted weapons tossing off sparks and other effects it can bog down pretty bad so wondering if this is a gpu or cpu issue?

Gpu is stuck as is due to insane pricing but my pc shop is willing to trade my i5 for an i7 4770k and some cash so would upgrading to that help with the bog downs?

It seems to happen no matter how I set up the hardware settings.

Thanks!

edit: Ok tried the latest dev build and it solved most of the performance issues. Still bogs a bit but nothing that makes it unplayable. Still interested to know if getting the i7 would garner any meaningful performance gains.
