I was hoping this will be integrated pretty soon too. Smile

Always check the "Games with in-game 16:9" list.
I closed requests so our widescreen developers could have a little freedom, but I'll add Blood Rayne anyway.
Please don't request any more games for now though.

So we have at least 5 people in agreement that built-in widescreen is a good idea.
I'm going to take it up with refraction, avih, and rama to see how we can get this done.

Yep, I am always being naughty when it comes to widescreen hacks Smile Thanks, I will stop requesting for couple of months.

Naruto Shippuden Narutimate Accel 2 SLPS_258.37
Resident Evil - Dead Aim SLUS_206.69

Just want to add, the Sly 2 patch does not work for me (Well, it partially works but the game becomes unplayable).

When the cheat is activated the UI is still available but the game itself (the rendered 3d part) becomes black and no longer renders. Everything else works, but you can't see anything, and thus can't play.

At the quoted part of the post is stated the patch is for: Sly 2 - Band of Thieves SCES_525.29

If yours is a SLUS (or in any other way doesn't match that description), the patch may fail.

I did some ninja edits behind the scenes and fixed a few organization errors in both the archive, and made a new "cheats" folder.
Simply dump it in your PCSX2 cheats folder, and you'll have the latest version of every single widescreen .pnach. Smile
No need to drag-and-drop, which may be troublesome if you have a huge PS2 library.

This should make things easier for everyone, especially for implementing built-in widescreen in the future.

Just note: The cheats.rar doesn't contain Devil May Cry 2 NTSC-J because it shares the same CRC as the NTSC-U version, so I had to prioritize the NTSC-U version over it.

The NTSC-J & NTSC-U patches for "Devil May Cry 2" lacks this info, so I added it.

How about this?
Create a "Specials" subfolder, place the NTSC-J pnach in it,
make a note in form of a .txt file about this, and add that to the folder.

"dlanor" made a suggestion about expanded PNACH filenames, which would be useful here.

Not bad Smile BTW, We, PS2 users, have found a way to use .pnaches with no issues, as we have got all necessary software to convert them, but PS3 users still need elfs.
Let me know if you plan to add remaining .elf hacks.

Okay, I'll add the info.
I'm not sure how I feel about the specials subfolder, since it kind of defeats the purpose. It's not a huge loss though, so no need to worry, unless you really, REALLY love DMC2 in Japanese.
Expanded .pnach filenames could take a lot of time, and they're a bit unconventional so I'm a bit iffy.
By now, everyone should know how to find the CRC of the game they're playing, and they can also refer to the main archive too.

By the way, the idea to rename "cheats" to "ws" for the Widescreen Helper is totally genius. Wouldn't this technically make it a lot easier for developers?
This could have really helped Hyakki... shame they aren't around anymore.

And that's good, Argon. Smile
I still plan to, just need a little bit of free time.

I ment under special circumstances like this (with "Devil May Cry 2").

The expanding of the filenames can be optional; unmandatory.
Only requirement is that the files begin with the CRC.

You're a bit fuzzy, however:
Unless the devs enhances the "script-code" of the patches (which would require more work\time),
and if the PCSX2 menu should have an option for cheat-patches and another one for widescreen-patches,
the patches still have to be divided into a "cheats" folder and a "widescreen" (or "ws") folder.

How am I "fuzzy"? You're the one who's a towel!

For Widescreen Helper, I mean it would be less trial-and-error because now we have more accurate Profiles to change the memory.
Lots of games share the same address required to change the FOV.
Although I tried patching Blood Rayne with all 491 .pnachs, and none of them worked. :/
