Yes, that should be interesting. I Wonder if they will increase the polygons count of the objects (regardless of dynamic LOD), maybe higher res textures? nicer fur shader? Smile
Considering they prolly had to redo 90% of the game engine from scratch, I bet that lighting and shaders will be improved.
Textures and other static art (music, sound effects) will most likely be the same.
So in the end the games will still look like PS2 games, just much more polished Smile
Set 30fps for NTSC and 25fps for PAL in the settings and you will be surprised Smile This way (on fairly newer computer) you can turn off speed hacks and have higher resolution - the game will still run 100% speed, as it is developed for those target fps.

Well, when you look at walls or you are in small places, the game runs at 60fps in-game (not only the gsdx report). And when you are facing a colossus, it does frame skip. So, sometimes 60, sometimes 20 or less...
I will try your method when I go home, anyway.

If this statement has any merit to it (big if) then it would only apply when progressive scan is turned on anyway.
It's wrong.
The game breaks severely by doing this. Any timed events (scripts) are out of sync.
There is a reason we keep telling people we need the full 50/60FPS..
Hi Smile

I just discovered this thread, 'cause I was talking with a friend about SoC and I had to understand why that game runs so badly on my PC Tongue2

I read some posts on this topic but I can't find an answer ^^

Here are my specs, if anything is wrong, I'd like to know it :'(

- Intel Core2Quad Q9550 @3.6Ghz
- 4 Gb DDR2
- HD4850 (512Mb)
- Resolution : 1680/1050 (22")

- Release : r4067
- Plugin GSdx : SSE4-r3623 (settings : Dx10 / D3D Internal Res : 1680/1050)
- Emulation Settings :
* EE/IOP / VUs / Gs : default
* Hacks : EE Cyclerate : x1 (default) / VU Cyclerate : x1
* INTC Spin : On
* Wait Loop : On
* Others : Off

The game is very very laggy and the sound "cracks". The game runs like 10 or 15 fps, no more I think :/

Is there a way to get this game smoother ? Smile

Thank you all Wink

NEVER CHANGE INTERNAL RESOLUTION!!!
Use the scaler instead... 2x scaler should be enough for your screen resolution... You will be able to play with speedhacks:
Either (EECR=2 VUCS=1) or (EECR=1 VUCS=2)... I prefer the second one...
Look for my modded GSDX on YouTube to get rid of Overbrightening...
Also you can check your FPS in the window title bar. It should say 60FPS for NTSC or 50FPS for PAL copies of the game.

The European edition supports both PAL and NTSC in 50/60hz respectively.

And, it's important to know that in this game setting EE/VU cycle rate/stealing too high can cause the titlebar to show high fps, while the gameplay actually becomes slower, so use these hacks with care.
