I have 3 official DS3 controllers and 2 of them connect perfectly but my 3rd wont connect and the monitor doesn't pick it up at all. Following a different thread I have the Scp.Driver.log and ScpService.log I will upload.

EDIT: It wont let me upload them here, what file service do you guys use?

You should not have a problem attaching a compressed (zipped) folder. You can also use Winrar to compress and attach the file.
Also try pinhole resetting the one that won't connect

Ahh thanks didn't think of zipping it. Also I tried that and it worked on my friends laptop after that but it still wont on mine.
thanks for the awesome plugin!

two questions
(1) is there a way to totally disconnect the Dualshock 3 without restarting the PC? (I have both Bluetooth and USB drivers installed...) despite pressing L1+R1+PS Button, the controller still appears as Xbox 360 Controller under devices.
EDIT: what I mean is that holding L1+R1+PS button merely puts the DS3 on Standby, the controller still appears connected under Devices

(2) Any chance that this app be updated to support the Wii U Pro Controllers?
alright I got this figured.

yes, you need to stop the service to really just disconnect the device fully.

the fastest way to do so is to create two .bat files (command line scripts) to make this fast

STOP.bat (to stop the service)
Code:
ECHO
net stop "SCP DS3 Service"

START.bat (to restart the service)
Code:
ECHO
net start "SCP DS3 Service"

you can put ECHO OFF instead if you don't want to see the messages

both .bat files require you to "Run as Administrator"

it'll be nice if we didn't have to do all these to get it working/disconnected
@Shin-Asmodeo: yes, in the Sony naming scheme the last letter is the Region code.

Sony do not distribute product from one region into a different region, so if you are in U region, you will not be able to buy an H region product. (most likely for Regulatory compliance)

Did you buy your H controller in Hong Kong, or personally import it from Hong Kong?

Fake controllers can look very much like Sony Controllers, the internals are completely different. A large number of fake controllers are/were produced in Hong Kong and are badged as Sony CECHZC2H. Unscrupulous suppliers have been selling these as original Sony equipment, usually on E-bay for discount prices.

There is no difference in the signalling/messaging between controllers from different regions on genuine Sony DS3/Sixaxis controllers.

@Ashnal: BTH chips have on-chip RAM, this will not be cleared until power has been removed from the chip. With a dongle, this can be done by simply unplugging it. For a laptop you may have to shut it down, remove any AC supply, remove the Battery.

@Ryu Makkuro: there are a few things that may cause this issue -

1. Controller needs to be reset - try a Pinhole Reset of your DS3
2. Faulty USB cable - verify that your cable works correctly with another USB device, try a different cable.
3. Faulty USB Port/Hub - verify that the port is USB 2.0 capable, verify the port with another USB device, Hub may be overloaded - remove other USB devices which are connected to ports on the same hub.

@mozartripper: your BTH dongle is failing the HCI_Set_Event_Mask call.

1. Run ScpMonitor.
2. Right-click on the Icon in the Task bar, select Configuration.
3. Check the "Disable SSP" box.
4. Click OK.
5. Restart your PC.

@draco259: see above response to Ryu Makkuro.

@wilflare: any particular reason you want the Xbox controllers not to appear in Devices and Printers?

Quick Disconnect feature -
1. On USB this is intended to be used by people who are not using BTH, and have their DS3 paired to a PS3. It allows them to Shutdown their PC without starting up the PS3.
2. On BTH it is intended to be used as a battery saving feature.

Xbox controllers remain Reserved while the Service is running - main reason for this is to allow transparent switching USB <-> BTH.

Scenario - playing a multiplayer game with friends.
1. Pad 1 connected via USB and charging, other Pads connected via BTH.
2. Pad 1 becomes fully charged - Player 1 disconnects from USB and switches to BTH. Game continues uninterrupted.
3. Pizza arrives - Game paused, all Pads are Quick Disconnected to save battery (L1+R1+PS).
4. Pizza devoured - all Pads re-connected by pressing PS, Game unpaused.

If you have been using MotionInJoy, verify that it hasn't left any driver files - Driver Details should be like the following screenshot.

The pinhole reset did it job, didn't even tried the other ones, since the cable was the first thing I tested, and since I constantly use my USB ports with pendrive's etc. no sense in testing them.

Anyway, thanks a bunch, works like dream now, both in BT and USB mode Smile

Actually I just redid all the steps for installation and that did the trick!
Thanks though!

Still not working Sad. Other strange thing, I connected my controller to my ps3 to see if it was working properly then plugged it back in the pc (service was still running) and it did not pair the controller the the pc dongle. I can see in the log that the controller is assigned a different remote address than the dongle one.
@mozartripper: I don't see your BTH dongle starting up in that log, did you unplug the dongle?

1. Disconnect your DS3 from USB.
2. Shutdown your PC.
3. Make sure your BTH Dongle is plugged in.
4. Start your PC.
5. Start ScpMonitor - verify your Dongle is correctly displayed in the Host area.
6. Plug in your DS3 to USB - verify it is displayed in Pad 1.
7. Wait 30 seconds.
8. Unplug your DS3 from USB - verify that it switches from USB to BTH in Pad 1.
9. Zip up ScpService.log and post as an attachment.

Note : do not run ScpServer if ScpService is running.
