Hi there,
I've done things over and over about a dozen times but can't get the controller to pair with my Bluetooth dongle (cheap one but recognized by Windows as USB\VID_0A12&PID_0001).

I think the following screenshot gives a good overview of the issue


When I plug the cable out the SCP Monitor shows:


Anyone got any ideas? Is there at least a way to tell the server what MAC address it should be looking for?

Digging through this thread the only relevant find was that BTH 00000000 None occurs when the dongle doesn't support EDR and that only happened to Cambridge Silicon Radio (CSR) dongles which according to the driver that windows update chose to install my dongle was.
The EDR possibilty is further supported by this post as I can get the controller to vibrate through SCPUser even when its plugged off.

If that's indeed the case it'd be helpful if the original post (post #1) was updated (given the activity of this thread I'm sure a mod can do it) with either a definitive BTH 0000000 None = unsupported dongle or a blacklist of the Revs mentioned in this thread.

Yeah everything looks like it was installed properly since SCPMonitor is giving you the MAC address for the dongle. Your theory about it not supporting EDR seems valid so I would go ahead and pick up another BT dongle. In the mean time though, you might want to try another DS3 just to be certain the issue is the dongle. Also, does your controller work well via USB?

Yeah it works (as expected) via USB and on a laptop with an integrated Bluetooth receiver. Shame about my plan on getting the cheapest dongle possible backfiring though.

It's not all lost mate. I actually got the really nice ASUS USB-BT400 (Which is the replacement to the well-known ASUS USB-BT211) for $10 + $5 MIR on Newegg recently so it ended up being $5. I would suggest waiting until Black Friday/Cyber Monday to see if there's any deals on USB Bluetooth dongles. At the very least the BT400 should drop to $10 again, even if there isn't a Mail-In Rebate for $5 I think paying $10 for a BT dongle that works with SCP is a pretty good deal.

P.S. Did you try overwriting your Bluetooth's driver with Zadig? That might work.

Hi,

I am trying to connect my PS3 controller to my desktop PC. It worked fine on my laptop. However on the desktop with Win 7 64 bit I used to have MotionJoy installed. I uninstalled it using the control panel then installed the SCP client, installed the drivers and the monitor shows that the device is connected. Even the XInput controller tester shows the device works fine. All the buttons are registering.

So far so good. Strangely though whenever I start a game the controller is not found and does not work. I tried different games but no luck.

Any ideas?

Did you bind your buttons under the PCSX2 settings? Are you talking about PC games not working with your DS3?

Yes the PC games are not working. Motionjoy worked but I did not like it at all.

I just noticed that MotionJoy required a manual delete in the device manager. I did that as well but changed nothing.

SCP monitor and XInput say it works (even the rumble when testing) but all games I tried do not register the controller.

Does it work on PCSX2?
